Have you ever thought about everything Jesus gives us? Once you start to really think about everything He does for us, it becomes obvious why we need Him so much. If you have any area of lack or need in your life, you can turn to Him. He has what you need.
Do you need joy? Joy is a Person. His name is Jesus.
Do you need peace? Jesus gives that freely.
What about healing? Jesus paid for all healing of every disease the day He gave His life for you.
Grace? An endless supply.
Mercy, freedom, or wisdom? Jesus has all of that for you, no matter who you are.
And of course, extravagant love. Jesus said in John 15:13 that “greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Its one thing to die for your friends, but Jesus died for us while we weren’t even looking for Him. Romans 5:8 says “but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” God has always loved us, even when we turned our backs on Him. That’s amazing!
Unfortunately, its during our hardest times in life that we feel like we can’t run to Him to be comforted. We feel like we are a mess because we have done things wrong, or we think we are not good enough to come to Him. But no matter what we do, our problems don’t affect His faithfulness! Psalm 86:15 says “But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God,
slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.” We never need to “clean up” to come to Jesus! He is the One that does all the cleaning. Revelation 13:8 says that Jesus was slain from the foundation of the world. That means that before we were even created and before we even had a chance to do our worst, Jesus already cleaned up all those messes for us. We can never make a mess that He can’t handle.
So never be afraid to run to Him. Tell Him what you need. Let Him pour out on you everything that this world can never give you. He will never turn you away. He will meet every need and heal every hurt. He wants to give you freedom and identity. He is waiting with open arms.
