“See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God,” 1 John 3:1. As a Christian, its really important that you understand who you are. We need to know that we are sons and daughters of the King. “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ,” Romans 8:16,17. We share in the inheritance that rightfully belongs to Jesus, and God is happy to give it to us! Luke 12:32 says “So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.” Heaven’s resources are available to us NOW because we are sons and daughters! Our Father has an endless supply that He wants to lavish on us. Whatever our need or problem is, God has a provision. And it is our responsibility as royalty to access Heaven’s resources to show the world around us the love of our Father. That was what Jesus did when He was here on earth, and that is our job now. When we take on an attitude that we are worthless and unworthy, we miss out on understanding our identity. Its false humility, and it doesn’t please God. Jesus paid a high price, not just for us to get a ticket to Heaven when we die, but to restore us to our Father. Now we can know Him as our Father the way He intended it from the beginning. And as we begin to understand who we are as an individual, we start to see the value in others as well. We understand that it is a privilege to serve others and see God’s Kingdom become a reality here on earth. Jesus said in Matthew 10:8 that we should preach the gospel and “heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons; freely you received, freely give.” God loves all people, and He has chosen to display that through His kids. Its time for us to know who we are so we can show others who He is!
