Hunger for God

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied,” Matthew 5:6. Jesus told us to be hungry for more of God. Our hunger should compel us to seek His presence and spend time in the Word. In John 4:34 Jesus refused food that His disciples brought Him, saying “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work.” Just as our hunger drives us to God’s presence, we will be satisfied as we understand His will for our lives and live in it. “And the LORD will continually guide you, and satisfy your desire in scorched places, and give strength to your bones; and you will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.” As we seek His face, He places His Godly desires in our hearts, and we desire to do His will. There is a satisfaction in living out God’s plan for our lives that nothing in the world can compare with. And the world takes notice when it sees someone who is satisfied. That’s not something that we can accomplish in the flesh. As the world sees Believers satisfied in God, we are living proof that He alone can satisfy. We glorify Him in our satisfaction!
