“Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father,” Philippians 2:9-11. When I first started to learn about how God heals people, this verse became one that I meditated on a lot. Every sickness has a name. The flu has a name. Cancer and depression have names. And according to Scripture, they are all required to come under the authority of Jesus, since His name is above theirs. When Jesus laid down His life for us, He took on Himself every sin and sickness and had complete victory! There was nothing left un-done because His sacrifice was perfect! As I began to understand that Jesus had already DONE everything, I realized that it also meant that nothing was too difficult for Him. There is no disease that He can’t handle, because He already defeated it. Its so easy to look at the natural world around us and see some miracles as “easier” for God to supply than others. Many times we think about something like a cold or headache as easy for God, but other things as much harder. But in reality, since Jesus has already paid for every healing, there is no difference between being healed of a headache or heart attack. Its no more difficult for God to raise the dead than heal a small cut. Jeremiah 32:17 says “Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” We need to start using our faith to look past this natural world. We can’t focus on how we feel because our feelings don’t always line up with the Word of God. We have to look past what our physical eyes tell us, and focus on the truth found in Scripture. “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in Me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do ever greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son,” John 14:12-13. Jesus said that WHATEVER we ask in His name, He will do. There are no incurable diseases. There are no limits! When we pray for the sick, we aren’t begging God and twisting His arm to do something for us. We are simply receiving what Jesus already paid for. Praise Jesus that when He said “It is finished” He truly meant it!
